4/18/24 Update from the Rector Search Committee
The committee has met four times in the last three weeks to develop and refine a set of questions to guide the Discernment process. The Colorado Diocese Office of Transition Ministry (Canon Vanessa Stickler Glass) will guide us through a mock interview process on 4/23 in anticipation of the closing date for applications of 4/26. The search committee will receive a list of approved applicants from Canon Vanessa on 5/2
The Search Committee will conduct Zoom interviews with candidates during the month of May. The Discernment process will culminate with the Search Committee forwarding 2-3 candidates to the St Matthews Vestry. When interviews with the Vestry are completed, the Vestry will transmit its recommendation(s) to the Bishop, who makes personnel decisions in the Diocese of Colorado.
3-26-2024 Update from the Rector Search Committee
The Rector Search Committee was appointed by the Vestry. The committee’s work is informed by the Profile report. The Profile is a thoughtful document and serves to introduce St. Matthews to prospective Rectors. Thank you very much to all who worked on the Profile report (available on the St Matthews website.)
The Search Committee has met several times (in-person and via Zoom) both as a committee and with Rev. Canon Vanessa Stickler Glass, the Transition Ministry coordinator for the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado.
The role of the Search Committee is to interview qualified candidates recommended by the Diocesan Transition Ministry (Canon Vanessa) and then to recommend a finalist pool of candidates to the St. Matthews Vestry. These Search Committee interviews will take place following Canon Vanessa’s presentation of candidates to the Search Committee on May 2, 2024.
The Vestry will then interview the candidates and forward names to the Bishop, who makes the final decision in Diocesan personnel matters.

whom God is calling to be rector for this parish.
Grace us with patience, trust, and hope
through the interim times of doubt and uncertainty.
We pray that we may receive a faithful pastor,
who will care for your people and equip us
to continue, improve, expand and reach out
with our ministries to all whom we can touch;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
