Find COmmunity

We have a place just for you

Our hope is to help everyone who walks through our red doors find belonging and a place to grow, love and be loved. If you’re looking to get involved beyond attending on Sunday, you’ve come to the right place!

  • The Fellowship Committee hosts a time for celebration and socializing outside of a purely worship environment. Immediately after each Sunday service, you are invited to join in the Parish Hall for coffee or tea, snacks, and conversation. We hope to provide a friendly, welcoming environment for all parishioners and guests. This is an easy first step to meet new folks at St. Matthew’s in a relaxed way.

  • Centering Prayer is a renewal of an ancient form of Christian prayer. It is a method of consenting to the presence and action of Christ in the stillness of our being. It is an exercise of faith, hope and love, moving beyond conversation with Christ to communion. The fruit of this prayer is a growing sense of God’s leading us beyond anxiety into an inner stillness and peace, and outward in compassion and service. Anyone desiring to deepen his or her prayer life will benefit.

  • The Newcomers Committee is dedicated to recognizing new folks that visit or join St. Matthew's, making them feel welcome and helping them find the best ways for them to connect with the wider church. Part of the work of the committee is to provide events that bring together members of the parish and newcomers. If you give the Office your contact information, we’ll be sure to include you on the invitation to our next Newcomer’s event to help you get connected and learn more about all the great things happening here!

  • The Wine Walk Committee is a wonderful way to have outreach for St. Matthew's and the community of Parker. Members of the committee and the parish help promote the church the last Friday of the months of May, June, July, August, September and October, by pouring wine for the participants of the Chamber of Commerce Wine Walks. In the past, St. Matthew's has provided the community the interesting history of the church, music, respite from either the cold or heat and snacks for those that seek us out.

  • The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of St. Matthew's empower each other to live the life for which Christ called us by sharing His love through outreach, fellowship, and spiritual growth. We are the fellowship of ALL women of the Church; women of all ages, identities, ethnic origins, and socioeconomic backgrounds — and every variety of theological, liturgical, and political view. Our purpose is to provide spiritual, devotional, and social activities for the members of the ECW and the community at large. All Episcopal women are considered “members” and are welcome to participate. We’d love to get to know you!

Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Updates & Events appear in the Parish Weekly Newsletter.

  • The children, age 3 through Third grade, join the procession at the beginning of the service during the opening hymn and leave to go to the Children’s Chapel for age appropriate lessons. They join us for Communion, the blessing, and to sing the final hymn. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join their younger children the first few times they attend in order to help them be comfortable.

  • St. Matthew’s offers Christian education to all members of our parish. We have an active Sunday School for Pre-school through High School. Our Sunday School teachers bring the stories of the Bible to our younger members, helping them to know God through our Scripture and worship. (For the older youth, see also “Youth Group”)

  • The St. Matthew’s Youth Group is for students entering 6th grade through 12th grade. The youth group cares for one another, plays fun games, goes on retreats, mission trips and plans fun get-away activities to challenge themselves or just to have a great time.
